Whistleblast Quartet
The Whistleblast Quartet have been in school for the past two days as part of the Cashel Arts Fest. A special thanks to Eleanor O' Dwyer for helping us organise these wonderful perfomances. Here are some pictures of the concerts, and a report by two of our boys. The Whistle Blast Quartet By Mark Minogue and Gabriel Saldanha On the 16th and 17th of October, St. John the Baptist boys and girls school went to the hall to watch two men and two women play instruments .Their name is The whistle blast quartet .They were playing the keyboard, saxophone, oboe and French horn. They explained how a piano worked .One musician told us all about the French horn .Did you know that if you stretch out the French horn it’s the length of 20 tin whistles. The woman told us how the oboe started. The oboe started from a piece of paper then a reed and then it was a hollowed out stick with a cone on the end. They also played some cool music like the Simpsons, James Bond and Mission Impossible. We were all singing songs and tunes.
