U11s well beaten by terrific Gaelscoil Durlas
Our U11s reached the Cumann na mBunscol Roinn B Football County Final but we were well beaten in the final by a far superior Gaelscoil Durlas team. The game was played in Littleton at the early time of 10am on Friday 8 November. Despite the fact that we were overrun by a team who took some tremendous scores, our heads never dropped and we battled right to the very end. Our efforts should have been rewarded with a score but alas it was not to be. Our boys will have learned a lot from this game, and will be back again eager to make amends. Congratulations to Gaelscoil Durlas who have beaten us in the U13 and U11 competitions this year. They deserve their victories as they have some fantastic footballers on display this year who play the game with boundless tenacity and skill. Our team captain Ross Whelan was a great leader this year and Ben White was magnificent in goal. In truth, all the boys played their part and it was no mean feat to get to a county final in the first place. A special word of thanks to Paddy Moloney for his endless enthusiasm in helping us out after school. For now, however, we must lick our wounds. But we'll be back!
