U11 B1 Gaelic Football Team Take Silver

U11 B1 Gaelic Football Team Take Silver

History repeated itself as our U11 B1 team, like their U11 B team compatriots, were beaten by Gaelscoil Durlas in a three team blitz county final in Leahy Park Cashel on Friday 15 November.  We can have no complaints as we were beaten by a craftier team on the day. This was the third time this year that a Gaelscoil Durlas team has beaten us at both U13 and U11 level.  All credit goes to their teachers for the great work that they are doing there with those boys and girls! Seanie Barron did a terrific job as groundsman, scorekeeper and referee.  He always makes a special effort when we visit Leahy Park and we are very grateful to him for that.  It's a lovely touch that the school names are on the scoreboard. Gaelscoil beat ourselves and Ballylooby in the first two games, and were presented with their plaque and gold medals after that game. We then went on to play Ballylooby to decide which team would secure the silver medals.  Fortunately, we came out on a top after a cracking performance from all the boys. It was a great day, helped in no small part by conditions which were excellent for a November day.   A word of thanks to Paddy Moloney who couldn't be with us on the day but who has trained all football teams throughout the term, to PJ Dunne who helped out brilliantly on the day, to the parents who came to see the boys in action and of course to the boys themselves for their training. We know we have work to do to get better so hopefully both club and school will work hand in glove to ensure gaelic football is developed in the parish. Below are some pictures from the day.
