Trip To Kilkenny For Second Green Flag
by Jack Price SECOND GREEN FLAG FOR SCHOOL On Thursday 26th May, two boys from the Green School Committee, along with Miss Mullins, went down to Kilkenny to collect our second Green Flag. This flag is for energy awareness. We left just after small break and arrived at about 12.30 p.m. When we arrived, we got to have lunch with the other schools. We had a lovely meal and when we were finished we went in to a big conference room. In there was the head of the Green School Association (An Taisce). We also met the heads of An Taisce from Tipperary, Waterford and Kilkenny. The special guest was Minister for the Environment, Phil Hogan, who later presented us with the Green Flag. After that, we left and went home after a lovely day. We are very proud and privileged to receive this flag. We were chosen because we were the two sixth class members of the Green Schools Committee.
