Standardised Testing
Information on standardised test results
School reports will be available on Aladdin Connect this year. For parents not connected, a hard copy will be available from school office on Monday, June 19th.
Staff will be available to meet parents from 3:00pm – 4:00pm on June 19th if they have any queries in relation to reports.
For parents of children in Senior Infants & First Class:
Instead of STen scores, Senior Infants and First Class results are now provided using 3 descriptors.
- Criterion Reached: This indicated that your child has accessed successfully most aspects of this years maths or reading programme and has a STen score of 5 – 10.
- Approaching Criterion: This indicates that your child has successfully achieved in some aspects of the reading or maths programmes covered during the year. It is the roughly the equivalent of a STen score of 4.
- Criterion Not Reached: This indicates that your child encountered difficulties in reaching some of the learning targets in reading and maths for the year. He/she will receive some additional assistance in these areas over the coming school year.

MOST IMPORTANTLY....
- Please remember that standardised test results do not, and should not, define a child.
- They are in no way a measure of how special and unique each boy in our school is.
