by Ross Bonnar The Primary Schools Easons Spelling Bee was held in Cashel in St John the Baptist school on the 23rd of February. There were 14 contestants. There were two representatives from Cashel, Ross Bonnar and Gabriela. It was very nerve wrecking for all the contestants. At the start, the spellings were ranked easy then they got harder as the spelling bee progressed. Ross got knocked out in the 3rd round and Gabriela went out in the 4th. After the 5th round a winner was declared. He was from Sacred Heart’s National School Roscrea. All contestants received a book, certificate and a t-shirt. There was a full house in the halla and it was a very interesting experience. Best of luck to the boy from Roscrea who will on go on to represent Tipperary in the provincial finals.
