Parent Association Activities Thank you to the PA for organising the recent Bag Pack in Super Valu and to all of you in the school community for contributing on the day. Over €650 was raised. The Parent Association generally meet the first Monday of every month. All parents are invited to attend these meetings and to become involved in the Association. |
Comenius - Our School In Europe On March 16, our colleagues from Poland, Hungary, Italy, Sweden and England will visit Cashel for four nights. They will march with us in the St Patrick’s Day Parade and come to the school on a number of occasions during the visit. Plans are well underway for their visit and and staff and pupils are very much looking forward to their arrival. . |
School Uniform Survey Thank you to all who took the time to fill in the recent School Uniform Survey. As of today (Monday), we have received 99 responses. In answering the question, “Do you want a school uniform for this school?”, 92% said yes while 8% said no. A full report on the findings of the survey will be issued in due course. |
IMPORTANT DATE FOR YOUR DIARY Internet Safety for Children Both At Home and At School (Address by Dr Maureen Griffin @ 7.30pm in the school halla on Monday 24 Feb) I would very much encourage you to attend this free presentation organised by the Parent Associations. Internet Safety is a hugely important and ever changing issue. Refreshments served afterwards. |
Junior Entrepreneur Programme 6th class pupils are smack in the middle of their Junior Entrepreneur Programme. More details on this very interesting programme can be found at www.juniorentrepreneur.ie After meeting with the Dragons and local business woman, Úna O Dwyer, the boys are working on their big idea - “Stress Balls”. On sale very soon! Thanks to Ms O’ Farrell for all her work with the boys. |
Green Schools Committee When the weather improves, the Green Schools Committee will be encouraging more and more pupils to travel to school in environmentally friendly ways. Our new Green Schools Code is: “Jog, Cycle, Share A Seat, Take A Bus or Use Your Feet” |
Sports Hurling coaching for 1st to 6th class boys recommences on Weds 26 February. Ordered hurling equipment available from 21 March. A word of thanks again to Cashel King Cormacs GAA club for providing the coaches. 3rd class pupils have commenced their block of swimming in Clonmel. This is their first time to go swimming with the school. Great excitement! |
