Letter about Liam McCarthy Cup, Dyslexia Association & Rock Run September 2016
27 September 2016
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Liam McCarthy & Irish Press Cups Visit on Thursday @ 12.45pm
Following Tipperary’s fantastic successes in Croke Park on All-Ireland hurling finals day, we are delighted to announce that the silverware will be visiting the school on Thursday at approximately 12.45pm. Please note the following:
- As parents, you are more than welcome to join us.
- The boys & girls may wear the county colours of blue and gold/yellow or any Tipperary GAA related jerseys/tops etc (including the pink one!)
- The children are encouraged to bring hats, flags, headbands, posters, banners etc to help create a suitable atmosphere.
- Practise singing Slievenamon (!)
- Because of the huge number of children in the three schools, it is unlikely that the visitors will be able to visit individual classrooms or sign autographs.
Dyslexia Association of Ireland Public Meeting on Monday 3 October @ 8pm
Please see overleaf a copy of a letter which gives details of a very important upcoming meeting. One of our parents has been the driving force behind this initiative and we strongly urge the entire school community to get behind this worthy cause by attending on the night in large numbers.
Rock Run Thursday 29 September commencing @ 6.30pm sharp
Final reminder to join us on Thursday evening for our annual Rock Run. This is a fantastic opportunity to support our schools and enjoy an evening of social physical activity. With treats afterwards to reward all the hardwork! Please note the following:
- In relation to parking, we need to keep the entire front of the school free from cars (both sides). Please park in Tesco, at the Green, in Spafield Family Resource Centre. There will also be some limited car parking behind the school on the playgrounds. Please respect our neighbours in relation to where you park.
- When leaving the area, please exit via the rugby club side of the Old Road. We ask that you do not drive against participants who are finishing the race from the town side.
- Runners/Walkers must run on the right hand side of the road at all times.
- Parents are responsible for their children. All pupils are encouraged to wear a high vis jacket.
- Remember that there is a shorter route of approximately 1.3km for our younger runners/walkers.
- You must register in the school halla in advance of the event. €2 for primary, €5 for secondary & €10 for adults.
