Irish Aid Awards
Before Christmas, a group of boys from fourth to sixth class were working with Mr Ryan on a project where they learned about the work of Irish Aid in helping countries achieve the Millennium Development Goals, and in particular the second MDG of achieving universal primary school education for all the world's children. The boys worked on a digital photo story to show the difference between school life in Cashel and life in rural Lesotho where the work of Irish Aid is helping children get a better education. While the boys were not finalists, they did receive a beautiful plaque in recognition of their participation in the “Our World Irish Aid Awards 2010/11”. Of over 700 schools that participated, only 100 received a special plaque so a special well done to the boys for their hard work in completing this project. It was a busy time of the year with the school show happening at the same time.
