Green Schools Committee Collect Fourth Green Flag
Green Schools Committee Members Miss Sinead Mullins, Conor Hassett, Sean Bourke and Jack O' Dwyer were in Kilkenny yesterday (20 May) to collect our fourth green school flag, this time for encouraging our school community to travel to school in an environmentally friendly way.
Here are some pictures Miss Mullins sent us on from the day and a special report from Sean Bourke.
Green Schools Committee Collect Fourth Green Flag
A special report by Sean Bourke
There were three people picked from the Green Schools Committee to represent our school and go to Kilkenny to collect our green schools flag for travel. The three boys picked were Conor Hassett, Jack O’Dwyer and myself. We travelled to Kilkenny by bus with Ms Mullins who is on the committee with us.
We went there on Wednesday 20th of May. The presentation was in a fine hotel. There were 56 schools there to recive their flags. Twenty of them were there to receive travel flags. We were amazed by the amount of schools there.
Our picture was taken with somebody dressed up as a drop of water when we arrived. Then the presentation started. There were speeches and then each school was called up one by one to recive their flag. Myself, Conor and Jack were very honoured to accept the flag for our school.
After the presentation, we had a lovely lunch and dessert. It was a very enjoyable day!
