First Class Lenten Enterprise
by Ms Costigan During this Lenten season, First Class have been learning about the work that Trócaire does to help people in countries like Honduras. We have been learning about Digna and her family who are featured on this year’s Trócaire campaign. In trying to think of ways in which we could help Digna, First Class decided to scribe and sell the Jelly Bean Prayer along with a token bag of jelly beans. This is a prayer with particular relevance at this Easter time. First Class has really enjoyed this enterprise, it has helped us to realise that a small effort on our part can make a big difference so far away. They sold out all their prayers and raised over €60 for Trócaire. Jelly Bean Prayer Red is for the blood He gave. Green is for the grass He made. Yellow is for the sun so bright. Orange is for the edge of night. Black is for the sins we made. White is for the Grace He gave, Purple is for His hour of sorrow. Pink is for our new tomorrow. By Charlene Dickson
