Easter Egg Nests in Second Class (and recipe to try at home!)
By Mark Keane 2nd Class On Wednesday the 13th of April we made Easter nest buns with our teacher Mrs. Kelly. They were lovely. They looked like birds nests and we put mini eggs in the middle. We made them in the staff room. All the 2nd class boys loved it. Mrs. Kelly is a really good cook. It was a good surprise because we didn’t know we were making them. Easter nest bunsIngredients: 200g milk chocolate 6 Weetabix (or Shredded Wheat/Cornflakes or Branflakes) Mini eggs (Smarties or Jellies will do) Instructions:
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave or in a bowl over a pan of water (Ask an adult for help with this).
2. When the chocolate is fully melted, stir in the crushed Weetabix. 3. Spoon the mixture into bun cases and flatten with the back of a spoon. This will make the nest shape. 4. Top each bun with mini eggs or your favourite sweets. 5. This mixture will make approx. 12 buns.
