Cashel defeat Templederry in last group game
Cashel 4-10 Templederry 3-4 by Brían and Ciarán Davern The match was played in Holycross and we had a good feeling about it. When we got there we saw Brendan Maher who was coaching Templederry. Conditions were dry as went into the dressing room. The Tipp team had been in there the night before. The new clubhouse was named after John Doyle, the famous Tipperary hurler who died. John Doyle won eight All-Ireland medals. We started brightly with Conn Bonnar scoring the first point, then followed by two points. But Templederry fought back getting a goal. However, the first half score was 3-7 to 1-1 in Cashel’s favour because of great goals from Alex Marshall and Danny Wade. A good amount of substitutes came on in the second half including the two of us! Although we were outscored in the second half by 1-3 to 2-3, our first half performance was too strong for them. After the match we shook hands and got changed. We went home on the bus satisfied as group winners.
