6th class meet the Dragons
AS part of their involvement in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme, five teams of sixth class pupils had to face a panel of four dragons in an attempt to convince them that their idea was worth an investment. SET teacher Sharon Perdue, Sean Laffey, caretaker Willie Halley and principal Will Ryan listened to pitches from the groups who tried to convince them that their product was the best. An audience from fifth class and their teachers Ms Sarah Costigan added to the pressure. The boys, however, did a fine job as they presented their product, their costings and their marketing strategy. The Dragons saw bird boxes, bookmarks, stress balls, a 'shape' game and wrist bands as each group vied to excite the questioning dragons. Tension was high as the sixth class pupils left the room while the Dragons made their decision. After intense debate, the Aaron Gibon led team, "The Auctioneers" were the successful group with their "Doe" balls idea. This idea will now be taken forward by the entire class. The Dragons will return in the next few weeks with a decision on whether or not to invest in the 'big idea'! Well done to Ms O' Farrell and our sixth class boys! We are looking forward to seeing what happens with your "stress" balls enterprise.
