5th and 6th attend 'Hairspray' at CCS
By Luke Q and Patrick F- 6th Class November the 3rd was the day 5th and 6th went to the musical Hairspray. It was in Cashel Community school. We had to walk to the secondary school. It was about a girl called Tracy who wanted to be on the Corny Collins show. It was a dancing show and she fell in love with one of the lead dancers on the show called Link. She went to jail because she believed that the people of all skin colour should be allowed dance together on a TV show. She protested and this is why she went to jail. But then she broke out .She got her way and they were allowed to dance together. Around the end of the show Presenter of Corny Collins show gave Brian Davern a goody bag .The Presenter that gave Brian the sweets was his brother .He also gave another girl sweets .At the end the girl in Hairspray got a ring off the boy she loved. She went on the Corny Collins show to become a dancer and won Miss Hairspray. The choir that sang were mostly from 1st and 2nd year and they were excellent. The place was very well set up. The stage was huge. The costumes were colourful. At the end of the musical there were two raffles. The best prize went to Gavin Ahern in my class. It was a funny, entertaining and fabulous show. We would recommend it to anyone.
